Baxter Regional Medical Center opened in 1963 with a staff of six doctors. Today, many of the nation’s top medical talents are still right at home at BRMC. With more than 100 physicians on staff, BRMC serves thousands of patients from Arkansas and Missouri each year. BRMC physicians offer cutting-edge technology and procedures that are unique to a hospital of its size. Baxter Regional Medical Center is bringing the latest advancements in medicine to Mountain Home.

Baxter Regional Medical Center and its Foundation provide Community Houses that will share tips about wellness. Other BRMC departments and physicians will also offer tips.

At the Peitz Cancer Support House, staff members help meet the needs of cancer patients in treatment, like providing free wigs. Call 870-508-2273. The Reppell Diabetes Education Center stresses healthful management of diabetes in terms of nutrition and social adjustment to new routines. A health care team works with the diabetic’s physician supporting the patient’s medical needs. Call 870-508-1765.

Baxter Regional Medical Center has two educational centers. The Women’s Health Education Center works with women of all ages, starting with young teens and continuing to women in their 80s. The center’s educational programs and activities with peers contribute to healthful handling of milestones and challenges in a woman’s life. Call 870-508-2345. The new Center on Aging houses an outreach center of the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education in Mountain Home.
