Community Houses that will share tips about wellness. Other
BRMC departments and physicians will also offer tips.
At the Peitz Cancer Support House, staff members help
meet the needs of cancer patients in treatment, like providing
free wigs. Call 870-508-2273. The Reppell Diabetes Education
Center stresses healthful management of diabetes in terms
of nutrition and social adjustment to new routines. A health
care team works with the diabetic’s physician supporting
the patient’s medical needs. Call 870-508-1765.
Baxter Regional Medical Center has two educational centers.
The Women’s Health Education Center works with women
of all ages, starting with young teens and continuing to
women in their 80s. The center’s educational programs
and activities with peers contribute to healthful handling
of milestones and challenges in a woman’s life. Call
870-508-2345. The new Center on Aging houses an outreach
center of the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education
in Mountain Home. Many resources are available here in
the form of pamphlets, books, DVDs, and through use of
a computer with Internet. The center hosts community education
programs in its classroom on topics such as Alzheimer’s
